Plans for 2005 are still being discussed – possibly another Renewable Realities event up in Orkney, perhaps including some nearby areas such as Shetland, Caithness and the wider highlands and islands. There are many renewable energy activities moving on apace and the renewables scenario at large is ever-changing – much to see, exchange, discuss and do……

Whatever its geographical coverage, this milestone event will focus on the recent deployment of a variety of marine renewable technologies in the area. It could also consider:

• alternative markets for renewable energy such as hydrogen
• power “smoothing” options
• new energy storage and fuel systems
• bio-energy
• heat pumps
• PV/Solar
• energy efficiency
